The Doubletree by Golf Resort was a phenomenal choice for our gymnastics team. The rooms were clean and spacious. And the breakfast was over-the-top!!! I am very proud to say and beyond words of thankfulness of how happy I am as not only a customer on behalf of myself and family but as part of the Far West Pop Warner Steelers Family, of the customer service we received from Daniel Payne. He truly went above and beyond his duties as an employee. He gave The Steelers football team red carpet treatment that will forever be remembered and appreciated by our team and most importantly our Far West Pop Warner Steelers Family. Daniel has established standards that exceed any other hotel establishment and his shoes will be impossible to fill. We feel as a team, his star treatment was of his own natural ability and who he is as an employee and the passion he has for his job sure shined thru his actions. For actions speak louder than words.
Our encounter with Daniel began back in March when he assisted in offering a group rate at the Marriott to our team and the DV Snakes. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the DV Snakes backed out of the tournament and never utilized the services by Daniel since they did not make it out to San Diego. Needless to say we were unable to take advantage of the deal he was able to work out for us because the demand of rooms was so high that the Marriot sold out. He continued to help us find another establishment, the Portofino. It is right next door to the Marriott but for the same price we would pay at the Marriott. Unfortunately, during the first night of our stay a 911 incident took place at the Portofino in which it affected the team as a whole and our safety of the location became questionable with our football players that range in the ages of 8-11. Our boys witnessed the incident first hand, and it surely left an impression on them of the Portofino. I reached out to Daniel to see if there was anything he can do or suggest. At this point he still continued to amaze us-immediately the next morning he arranged not only for my family but the families of the Far West Pop Warner Steelers team to move down the street to the Hilton maintaining the same price for us. He knew location was important to us and he secured that request only moving us a few miles from Portofino. The fact that he was able to maintain the price was only a small factor of the customer service that he provided. On top of that, whether it was him or the Hilton Staff who went above and beyond by providing welcome packages to each of the player’s room and to top it off which was the cherry on top was he provided breakfast vouchers for the families and free parking. No words can describe the amount of gratitude and how impressed I am and the team as a whole of his services. He is truly the epitome of Concierge services and knew how to make our players feel like superstars. His services didn’t stop there as our families moved hotels; there was a waiting period we had to wait allowing our rooms to become available. During this time period we still had all our equipment and our personal belongings in which he allowed us to store everything in a conference room allowing our team to have a team lunch together without the worrisome of anyone stealing our belongings and team equipment. Once the rooms were ready for each family, he had their bags delivered to their rooms after they took the time to identify each family’s belongings. The time and effort Daniel put into satisfying not only my family but the whole Far West Pop Warner Steelers Family was just remarkable and will never be forgotten. His eagerness to help and positive attitude assured us not to worry that everything would work out in which it did in more ways than one. Daniel’s willingness to help continued throughout our stay in addition to just making sure if there was anything else we needed as a team and as a family.
Our day started off with a phenomenal breakfast and our stay ended with NYS Championship Rings. We are the Far West Pop Warner Steelers and we play off season to maintain conditioning as the Far West NYS Steelers. We came to San Diego to play in a Football Tournament and we won it all. Our trip was planned to be a business trip for football and turned into our Family Vacation. A true success and unforgettable memories that will never be forgotten! I can honestly say that it couldn’t be done without the services Daniel Payne provided. I am still amazed and grateful for all that he did for us.
